The arborists behind the business
Canterbury-Bankstown Tree Permit Services is the Canterbury-Bankstown practice of Arbor Express, a qualified AQF Level 5 arborist team that has been preparing Council-compliant tree reports and permit documentation across New South Wales for more than 32 years.
We set this practice up so that local property owners, builders, architects and developers deal with arborists who work with Canterbury-Bankstown Council's tree controls regularly. Same arborists, same standards, focused on the Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government Area.
We are a service-area business. Our Consulting Arborists attend properties throughout the LGA rather than operating from a shopfront, which keeps site attendance and report turnaround as direct as possible.
Qualifications and methods
What sits behind the documentation we prepare for Council.
AQF Level 5 Consulting Arborists
Council recommends AQF Level 5 assessment for developments affecting trees, and states that Arboricultural Impact Assessments submitted with a Development Application or requested by Council should be prepared by an appropriately qualified Consulting Arborist at minimum AQF Level 5.
QTRA and TRAQ qualified
Recognised tree risk assessment methodologies, applied where a formal assessment of tree health, structural condition or risk is appropriate.
AS 4970-2025
Protection of trees on development sites is the standard Canterbury-Bankstown Council's current guidance refers to when assessing and conditioning trees affected by development.
Advanced investigation
AirSpade non-destructive root investigation, CAD root mapping and Resistograph decay assessment where additional diagnostic evidence is appropriate.
How we work
No guesswork and no unnecessary documentation. You know the pathway, the scope and the fixed price before anything starts.
Establish the Council pathway
We check the tree, its height, species, location and circumstances against Canterbury-Bankstown Council's tree controls, including whether an exemption applies.
Fixed quote before we start
You receive a fixed quote for the appropriate assessment before any work begins.
Site assessment and report
An AQF Level 5 Consulting Arborist attends the property and prepares the Council-ready documentation, including responses to requests for further information.
Approved tree work
Once approval is in place or a lawful exemption is established, the tree work can proceed with the same team that prepared the report.

Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, send us the details and we will tell you what applies.
Are you the same team as Arbor Express?
Yes. Canterbury-Bankstown Tree Permit Services is part of Arbor Express, a qualified AQF Level 5 arborist team providing Council-compliant tree reports and permit services across New South Wales, with more than 32 years of experience.
Do you carry out the tree work as well as the report?
Yes. We prepare AQF Level 5 arborist reports and, once any necessary approval is in place or a lawful exemption is established, our crews can undertake the approved removal or pruning.
Do you work with builders, architects and developers?
Yes. We prepare arboricultural documentation from the early design and Development Application stages through Tree Protection Plans, root investigation, construction monitoring and Project Arborist certification.
Which parts of Canterbury-Bankstown do you cover?
The whole Local Government Area, across all five wards. Some suburbs cross ward or Council boundaries, so send us the property address if you are unsure which applies.
Not sure which arborist report you need?
Send us your plans, Council correspondence or photographs of the tree. Our AQF Level 5 Consulting Arborists can identify the appropriate assessment, explain the next step and provide a fixed quote before work begins.
